Porcupine Meatballs

This is a really OLD recipe from a really old friend (Jill Pitzer)...the last time I made it was 10/97....Fowler was 8 months old! Not sure if he liked it then, but he LOVED it this time around! I made a couple of changes to it, but for those of you who have been exchanging recipes since 1997...this one was on a real recipe card...old school! Enjoy!

Porcupine Meatballs
1/2 cup uncooked, long grain rice
1/2 cup water
2 t. onion powder
2 t. garlic powder
1/2 t. salt and pepper
1 pound of ground beef

Mix all ingredients together, and using a cookie scoop make 18-20 meatballs.

In a large saucepan that has a lid, combine the following...

2 (15 oz) cab of tomato sauce
1 can of water
3-4 tablespoons of brown sugar
3-4 teaspoons of Worcestershire

Place the meatballs in the slowly simmering tomato sauce and cover...cook over low heat for about an hour, moving the meatballs around a couple of times.
